Forum Sport is a well-established sports retailer with more than 50 brick-and-mortar stores across Spain. Founded in 1991 by professional athletes, it is part of the Eroski Group and has built a strong reputation for promoting accessible sport with a product range that covers all disciplines.

 

The brand has evolved to meet the expectations of today’s consumers, adapting both its marketing campaigns and channels to deliver a consistent, valuable experience across both in-store and digital touchpoints.

Challenge

Forum Sport already had a strong digital presence and had tested web push with other providers. However, they lacked the automation and personalisation capabilities needed to enable dynamic retargeting and long-term engagement.

The goal was clear: to reach users across every stage of the funnel, from first-time visitors to cart abandoners, while also preserving previously acquired subscribers and avoiding any technical complexity.

 

Solution

Personalised Campaign Setup

Frizbit configured triggered campaigns based on user behaviour, adjusting the message to match the stage of the journey and the type of product viewed.

In parallel, bulk campaigns were launched in line with Forum Sport’s promotional calendar. These messages remained consistent with the brand’s overall strategy and supported its communications across all other channels.

Subscription via Native Opt-in

A native opt-in prompt was set up across desktop and mobile, helping the brand collect new subscribers without requiring personal data and build a fully owned audience.

Over a three-month period, Forum Sport achieved a 3,35% net opt-in rate per unique user and added 55K+ subscribers organically.

Additionally, Frizbit allowed Forum Sport to recover previously subscribed users without needing to request permission again. This ensured the reach of the channel from day one.

Bulk and Triggered Web Push Notifications

Forum Sport combined bulk campaigns with triggered flows based on user behaviour. Bulk campaigns were scheduled around key moments in the retail calendar, allowing the brand to reach its entire subscriber base during high-conversion periods.

In parallel, triggered flows were activated by specific on-site actions, such as viewing a product or abandoning the cart. This mix allowed Forum Sport to maintain consistent, relevant communication without adding extra workload for the team.

During Q4, 2.3M+ notifications were sent across both campaign types.

Dynamic Segmentation in Bulk Notifications

This will allow bulk messages to be adapted based on each user’s interests and behaviour. The goal is to improve the relevance of campaigns and drive better results.

Launch Smart Product Recommendations

With the support of Frizbit’s AI, Forum Sport will be able to suggest products tailored to each user’s browsing activity.
